Botanical art is the depiction of plants through mediums such as paints, watercolor, illustrations, etc. It has been a popular form of art as long as artists and plants have existed together. An initial relation between plants and art in early years was informational books on botany with illustrated images of plants. The purpose of botanical art is to capture life and color in earths creations. Alexandra Marshal is a wonderful botanical artist that uses soft, neutral, and rustic colors to capture the beauty of flowers and plants. She shows a particular fascination in wilted flowers, which look extraordinary in her work.
